Strategic Alignment Design Sessions
Focused strategy for teams who need clarity now
This isn’t a five-year strategic plan. It’s a focused experience designed to help your team get clear on what matters most right now, align quickly, and take purposeful action in a rapidly shifting environment.
Whether you work in education, reproductive justice, climate, housing, public health, the arts, or any space where the ground keeps shifting, this is built for you.
We created these sessions for organizations doing essential work with limited capacity. Because even when things feel urgent, strategy still matters.
Now is the time to pause and work towards greater alignment, direction, and momentum.
What this offering helps you do:
✺
Reconnect to your purpose, vision, and mission to strengthen organizational cohesion and morale
✺
Align your team around current priorities to make values-driven decisions in uncertain conditions
✺
Identify immediate next steps with shared clarity and chart a path forward
Design Session Formats
We offer two formats, featuring the same content, to provide flexibility in engaging with organizations with varying needs and capacity.
Option 1: Full-Day Retreat
A 6-hour facilitated session with breaks and movement to bring your team together in one powerful day. We will use grounding, reflection, and alignment activities to move your team toward purposeful action.
In-person retreats are available in the San Francisco, Bay Area. If you are located elsewhere and would like to bring us in, travel costs would be additional and discussed separately.
Option 2: Three-Part Workshop Series (Virtual)
Three 2-hour sessions over the course of 1-5 weeks. Each two-hour session is focused and collaborative, giving your team space to align, adapt, and strategize with intention between workshops.
What Happens in Each Session
Session 1: What Was
Reflect on your organizational past to gain clarity and alignment around what matters most in this present moment
This session grounds your team in a shared understanding of your story, values, and the context that brought you to this moment. Together, we reflect on what has changed and what patterns are showing up for both the organization and the communities you serve.
Session 2: What Is
Connect on current challenges to make space for what needs to shift
We map your current landscape, including opportunities, challenges, and tensions. Your team will name what’s emerging and what needs to shift and be prioritized to stay aligned with your mission and the needs of your community.
Session 3: What Can Be
Chart a path forward with the momentum and energy to take action
In this final session, we translate insights into action. Through facilitated sense-making and prioritization, your team will shape a near-future strategic direction with clear priorities and next steps.
Strategic Vision Document: Your guiding document based off your teams alignment on what matters now and how to move forward. This contains your current big picture: your identity, challenges, emerging needs, and near-future strategic direction and priorities.
Customized Priority Matrix: A decision-making tool to help your team identify trade-offs and focus time strategically.
12-Month Roadmap or High-Level Implementation Plan: A practical, role-based plan outlining how to move from strategy to action.
Session Notes and Insights: A full record of discussions, insights, and big ideas to revisit or share with new team members.
